Meet The Board Members
MHG is always looking for new board members. We are looking for folks who are passionate about plants. MHG is looking for people who are willing to travel to 4 mandatory meetings and one overnighter a year, attend the entire event and commit to at least two years up to 5 years as a board member. Jim Nymeyer - President
Jim Nymeyer is an herbalist and owner of Barjon’s Books and Apothecary in Billings. He has worked with herbs and alternative healing modalities most of his adult life. His healing roots began in energetic healing systems and evolved into the study of Chinese, Ayurvedic, Tibetan and Western herbalism. He is currently completing his advanced level of schooling at the East West School of Planetary Herbology in California and is under the mentorship of Mile Coleman RH AHG.
Jim has over 15 years experience in event coordination and marketing in both the commercial and non-profit sectors. His experience spans seminars, festivals, concerts, fundraisers, dinners, street fairs, and expos.
Lasca Ravenhill - Vice President / Volunteer Coordinator
Lasca is a certified Professional Herbalist. She completed her training with Jeannine Pollack, teacher extraordinaire, of Botanical Adventures in 1998. Lasca has been mesmerized with the indelible power, magic, and gifts plants have to offer since 1989, when experiencing her first healing with plant medicine. This began her path of self-education, leading to her professional studies. She works as a licensed massage therapist, trained doula, & artistic director / choreographer of Pandemic Rhapsody Rising, a performance based dance group. She's Mother of two incredible kids; Mylikha, 18, and Camas, 13.
Lasca truly believes in the mission of the Montana Herb Gathering to connect local herbalists, and provide quality education in the herbal arts. She is excited and honored to serve on the board of this great organization!
Stephanie Stanford - Secretary / Treasurer
Stephanie Stanford has been the Minister of Arts and Sciences for the Society for Creative Anachronism. During this time she taught classes on herbal first aid as well as tincture making. She has used herbs as a medicinal source for over 10 years. She is currently enrolled in the American College of Healthcare Sciences for a degree in Complimentary Alternative Medicine to become a certified herbalist.
